Chairman's Message

Union County is dedicated to offering the best public golf experience in New Jersey. Our three courses, Galloping Hill in Kenilworth, Ash Brook in Scotch Plains, and Scotch Hills in Scotch Plains, welcome all golfers from beginner to seasoned pro with first class facilities, reasonable fees and convenient locations.

Galloping Hill is known for its challenging, championship scale course, and it offers learning opportunities for all ages with three putting greens, practice course, all-weather driving range, world class instructors and TaylorMade custom club fittings. As the headquarters of First Tee of Raritan Valley, Galloping Hill also reaches out to the community with youth development programs and camps for young golfers.

The New Jersey Golf Association is headquartered in the modern, state-of-the-art Clubhouse at Galloping Hill, which provides golfers and visitors with a top quality atmosphere including the Red Knot gastro pub and a stunning view of the course.

Ash Brook is highlighted by a parkland style 18-hole course and a popular Pitch and Putt. A beautiful new clubhouse is currently under construction and will open in the Spring of 2019.

Scotch Hills Golf Course opened in 1920 as the Shady Rest Golf Club, the first African American Golf and Country Club in the United States. It features a nine-hole golf course or the 18-hole miniature golf course.

Managed by the leading firm KemperSports, our golf courses are the centerpiece of an exciting, dynamic community that is dedicated to the highest standards of customer service while fostering an open, inclusive environment for all.

Come and test your skills, work up to the next level, or simply relax and enjoy a round at the best public courses in New Jersey.
